The slow movements of her arms as she makes sure everything’s in place, the little details she makes sure to add to every one; as horrible as it is to admit, it’s fine work, brought forth by complete, unwavering love. silas blinks, owlish. he takes a few steps back as the collector flits around, silhouetting the trees and the log in the grass with darker darkness than the night and a bright white like the moon. “hi,” he says. “i’m… silas.”(a grimwalker, a long time before hunter and a long time before belos became emperor, talked to the collector. it ended as well as any grimwalker's life ever could.)
