Summary
Samira has long known that being friends with Robby is a character flaw. It had just never seemed so damning until now. It itched at her inion whenever Jack stared at her from across the ED. She pushed it away when he emailed case studies, because he was the only person not related to her who emailed her at all. She ignored it because she liked the way his callused hands brushed against the soft skin of her inner thighs and how his warm tongue felt heavy in her mouth. She craved the goosebump tingle that seemed to pulse at every nerve ending, at every millimeter of skin, whenever Jack’s attention focused solely on her at the end of a long day.

Summary
“Can I pet her?” Trinity asked.
“Sure. She likes a gentle stroke with one or two fingers,” the knight said. Trinity opened her mouth.
“Trinity,” Mel warned.
“I usually use three—” Trinity said.
“Trinity, the baby is right here.”
“For good girls,” Trinity finished, grinning widely as the knight coughed and looked away. “Meltdown, the baby has to witness Meems and Sir Peepaw getting frisky every day in her own home. You're gonna silence a queer woman during Pride?”

Summary
She stands frozen just outside of Robby’s periphery, so Jack sees her first, head lazily turning to face her, unaware of the havoc wreaked by his unexpected appearance. Helpless, she watches as he, too, processes the impossibility of her in this context, as his brain tries to make sense of what is in front of him. There is a subtle widening of his eyes as they track over her face and her body, a parting of his lips, like he might say something.
No, wracks through her brain, no no no. And maybe he can see the word in her expression, in the stiffening of her posture, or maybe he can still read her mind. Because after a moment, his face carefully contorts back into polite blankness, a sharp relief to the panic she is sure is still etched onto her face.
