    Summary

He couldn't do this. Couldn't stand here and watch Harrington struggle to do something as basic as standing up.

Because if he stayed, if he watched him try to get up and fail, or worse—if he watched Harrington succeed but saw how much effort it took, how much pain it caused—then he'd have to acknowledge it. He'd have to name it.

He'd have to accept that he'd done something unforgivable.

He'd have to accept that he'd taken someone who'd gotten under his skin in ways Billy didn't have words for, someone he couldn't stop watching, couldn't stop thinking about—and he'd ended him. Reduced him to this broken thing on the floor.

And Billy Hargrove didn't do guilt. He didn't do regret—he didn't do apologies or amends or any of that weak pathetic bullshit.

    So he left.

    Summary

Eddie blinked owlishly at Dustin a few times. Okay. So normally he would have said hell no. A (former) jock in the presence of his poor sheepies sounds like a nightmare.

But also… that was familiar. That sounded like a sheepie that Eddie would adopt, if it wasn't former King Steve.

Or, Dustin asks Eddie for a favor- let Steve sit in on Hellfire. What could go wrong?

    Summary

This isn’t right, he thinks; wants to protest aloud as he struggles against his bonds, against the insatiable hunger that’s coursing through his blood, itching through every filament of his being.

It isn’t right, but it’s necessary, Kaveh thinks—reasons—despairingly to himself. The only way he knows to help, to break this compulsion that continues to overwhelm both their senses, triggered by an ancient curse that had shaped itself into a mass of grotesque vines and tendrils lurking beneath the Ley Lines of the ruins they'd been exploring earlier. The only way he knows to remove the wretched spell that’s now branded into Al-Haitham’s skin, a distorted Dendro mark pulsing brightly over the planes of his lower abdomen.

Kaveh and Al-Haitham run into trouble in the ruins, entrapped in a vicious cycle by an ancient curse lurking beneath the Ley Lines.

    Summary

All Kaveh’s genius brain could focus on was the way Alhaitham had his legs spread earlier. The desperate look on his face when Kaveh took too long to put his hands on him. The praise, the groan.

Kaveh was hard again. He grumbled, pinching the bridge of his nose and leaning over his desk. He pulled out a plain sheet of paper, white-knuckling the pencil as he began his sketch. He started with the general shapes. The triangle of his upper body, the oblong shape of the thighs and lower legs, his neck, his head. Then he got to the details.
