Summary
“Ow…” he whimpered quietly to himself, dirtied fingers soothing the ache on the bridge of his nose as he sat back on his shins. He looked over his shoulder, scanning the agitated water for anything that could’ve tripped him. He was about to look away when his squinted eyes found equally dark but round ones amidst the ripples on the water’s surface, staring owlishly at him. A sense of doom spread throughout his body, traveling through his bloodstream like poison, and he threw himself forward onto his hands and knees, scrambling away desperately.
The water began thrashing violently, drawing back into itself before bursting outwards, flooding the bank and toppling him over one more time. His hands flailed around him, grabbing at water that was way too liquid for how it kept pulling him towards its center. He glanced back and saw those dark, soulless eyes still watching him, then a mauled hand extended forward, long fingers wrapping around his left foot when he was hauled out of the water and thrown across dry ground.
Jiung was two years old when he saw a ghost for the first time, six when he saw the one at the stream near his grandmother’s house, and twenty-one when he fell in love with said ghost.

Summary
Looking back at how terrible they had been to each other in the past, Keeho remains dumbfounded by all of the growth their relationship has experienced throughout the years. It was all so slow and gradual that it felt natural to go from barely tolerating the younger man to purposely seeking him out every chance he got, his eyes bouncing from person to person until they landed on the right one.
Present-day Keeho now stares at himself in horror after catching himself smiling fondly at Jiung’s antics—most importantly, after noticing an odd, warm sensation spreading across his chest at the sight of the other man.
‘What the fuck,’ is all that crosses his mind as he watches all the color drain from his face. He doesn’t fully understand what’s going on yet, but he knows that independent of what it is, he is utterly and absolutely fucked.
