He has help. Aang, Katara and Toph believe in him and have stood behind him against those who doubt his motives. And Sokka , Ambassador Sokka, Water Tribe liaison, architect and consultant of more than half the rebuilding efforts and projects - that makes any of this possible, shows up at his door every summit eve, drops into the same chair, and makes the whole thing feel slightly less impossible.
Then someone puts a Fire Nation blade in Sokka's side.

"I mean it." Sokka gestured at Zuko's shoulders. "You were not this big last time. What happened? Did you start lifting rocks? Did you start eating rocks?"
He stopped in front of Zuko and punched him in the shoulder.
The punch landed with a solid thud that would have staggered most men. Zuko did not move an inch.

Summary
Zuko has been traveling with the Avatar gaang for three weeks, five days, and, if he’s honest, far too many emotionally compromising group bonding moments.
Not used to sharing campfires without suspicion. Not used to laughter that isn’t sharp-edged or cruel. Not used to people standing close to him without flinching. And he is definitely not used to being grabbed.
Unfortunately, Sokka has decided Zuko’s survival depends on fixing that. With firebending off the table, Sokka, self-proclaimed “tactical genius,” has taken it upon himself to teach him non-bending close-quarters combat.
Specifically: grappling.
Specifically: using Zuko as a demonstration dummy.
Zuko hates it...He absolutely hates it.
There is nothing dignified about being shoved, pinned, or manhandled mid-argument, and nothing strategic about the way Sokka keeps finding his wrists, shoulders, waist…
This is a problem...A serious problem...And Zuko is handling it very normally.
