Summary
The Spire of Deceit. The Spire of Knowledge. The Spire of Shadows. Whatever name it bore, it was known for one peculiarity:
Time and Space—past, present, and future—could all converge at once.
Normally, this was of no great concern. Unless a soul became truly lost within its halls, the illusions of past and future were little more than curiosity. A nuisance, at worst.
So when the Fount of Knowledge looked up to find his future self pinning his alternate-universe counterpart against the roof of his own Spire, hip thrusting and moaning his own name—gravity an afterthought, dignity a distant memory—he became, for the first time in several centuries, profoundly concerned.

Summary
Somewhere there, his heart felt as if it could finally drop the weight, and accept the gravity of the situation—one that, it seemed, Shadow Milk was all too keen on avoiding.
Then, the words came. Pure Vanilla didn't know why he expected anything more.
"Nah," with a dismissive hand, the other slid his hand between the physician and the car, fingers making way to hook on the car's handle.
The taller's hand slammed onto the doors thoughtlessly. He didn't realise until the warmth bit his palm.
"Nothing?" he urged.
Shadow Milk's eyes widened and the movement seemed to have stunned his scheme. The taller's voice came lower, even though it was no secret that he whispered. In fact, maybe it was shame that kept him from airing the other's laundry.
"Not even the fact that you've had my child?"

Summary
The agreement had been fragile from the start.
A deal done between beasts, a settlement meant to decrease death on both sides, to cull the unmedigated slaughter and chaos that both inflicted on the other. Though the dragons had been resistant to the deal, they ultimately agreed upon it when it became clear that their smaller numbers would dwindle out before they could exterminate humans. One living dragon left wouldn't be able to recuperate like a dozen humans would. So they had agreed to the settlement, laying a tentative treaty of peace between kinds, if only to lessen their kind's blood that was spilled.
That treaty had been tested from the start.
