Despite all the noise, he can hear his opponent -- Aizawa Shōta -- coming towards him. Hizashi looks up from where he is still huddled on the ground, finally looking at his opponent up close for the first time.
Hizashi’s stomach drops, and he knows it should be from anger or bitterness or resentment, but it isn’t. Hell, it’d be better if it had been from embarrassment, but Hizashi knows that isn’t it either.

Shouta is tired.
His damn class keep getting into trouble. Every time they're hurt, he has to make the journey down to the hospital to sign paperwork and sit outside the room to wait for them to be discharged. It's a pain. It makes him anxious. It gives him headaches. He just wants a nap.
Unfortunately, someone has other ideas. Hizashi Yamada, a patient at the hospital, turns up every time to keep him company. Hizashi is smarter than he looks - and he might just be smart enough to help save some of Shouta's precious kids. Shouta can't help it if he starts to find the man endearing.
But Hizashi is keeping something from him. Hizashi never leaves the hospital.
Something about this situation... isn't right.

Summary
Hizashi doesn’t notice, too caught up in his own work. His glasses are sliding down his nose, and his hair is beginning to fall free of its loose bun. The tip of his tongue pokes out the side of his mouth as he does his calculations, and Shouta is suddenly overcome with the desire to hold onto this moment forever. He’s not sure why it feels so urgent - they’ve spent a thousand nights like this. There are thousands more ahead of them, with any luck at all. But something about the way Hizashi looks right now feels fleeting and precious, like the blink of a firefly.
Shouta shoves the paper in front of him forward until Hizashi looks up. “You know, if we got married, we might qualify for a tax break.”
