"Plans, they change," Eddie smiled, and it was a new smile, different from the previous ones. "Look, I’m not going to lie to you. Five kids is… actually, it’s a hell of a lot. But I didn’t come this far to give up now. If you have five kids, then I’ll just have to meet five kids. What’s the worst that could happen? They throw things at me? They hate me? They give me a nickname? I’ve survived entire high schools, I can survive five brats."

"Eddie, I need you to lick his wounds. Now."
The words hung in the air, absurd and laced with deadly urgency. Eddie froze, his mouth falling open in total disbelief. His eyebrows shot up, nearly disappearing beneath his unruly bangs. He looked at Nancy, then at Steve—who had also opened his eyes wide despite the pain—and then back at Nancy. Robin, from the background, let out a choked sound, a gasp of surprise.
"What?" Eddie managed, a disbelieving, nervous laugh catching in his throat. He shook his head, curls bouncing. "Are you shitting me, Wheeler? No way in hell am I licking Harrington."
