Izuku Midoriya has never really considered himself brave.
Sure, he gets into situations and makes it back out, and he charges into fights he really has no business interfering in, but that’s just basic human decency, half the time. A mix of desperation and god knows what else.
Izuku doesn’t think he’s particularly brave.
Every night, he wakes up with a wild heart and gasping breath and he has to bite down hard to stop himself from screaming.
Someone who’s brave wouldn’t be so damned scared all the time. Someone brave would stand up to fight instead of running away. Someone who’s brave wouldn’t still be caught up in old memories and nightmares.
Midoriya Izuku isn’t very brave.Ex-vigilante Izuku deals with the Overhaul Arc with his friends and family! He's dealing with some shit, but what can you do when you're quirkless and have been semi-regularly breaking the law and dealing with bloodthirsty supervillains?

Shinsou allows himself a selfish, deep breath before saying, “I’m sorry, what?”
Bakugou looks up at him critically. “My heat’s coming up. You’ve got a knot, right? I’m offering you the best lay of your pathetic life.”
God, he’s a brat, but who can blame Bakugou when he looks like that? Bakugou’s hips are so narrow he’d squeeze the life out of a knot. Shinsou’s obviously going to accept, but he makes a show of looking Bakugou over.
“You gonna waste my time pretending to think about it?”
Shinsou smiles so big his fangs dig into his lower lip. “You know I’m not gonna be sweet, right?”
