They were sitting on the curb by a pitstop, loooking out over a neverending and winding road, as his father filled up the tank of the car with gas. His mother had ruffled his hair and told him that that was a silly question, but he was very smart for his age. She didn’t give him an answer.

Sakuya misses the days he could just enjoy it — Yushi's touch and Yushi's soft laugh, when they would play silly games to pass time waiting before music shows and have their own alien language. When it was simple. Easy. When he'd have fun and maybe feel a little special over Yushi seeking his company, clinging to him on occasion, climbing into his bed for comfort.
Now, mingled with joy is the painful knowledge that it's just Sakuya, alone with his stupid, unnecessary feelings, with Yushi none the wiser.
And Sakuya has been so good at getting over it, so why is Yushi sitting there, hugging him, mumbling sweet nothings into his neck?

It makes his smile come easier, his words blurrier, his chest feel fuller. Riku thinks, maybe, it could be the weed making him looser now, but it doesn’t feel new at all.
