Cyno drinks him down like a mortal laying their lips to a goblet of nectar— quickly, messily, greedily, blood pooling too fast for his lips to catch. A tendril of it slowly spools down his neck, catching in the dip of his collarbone. Alhaitham is near dizzy with it, but he thinks Cyno dizzier with the way his lips lazily smush against the skin of his neck as if inebriated.
“I want you to eat well,” Alhaitham murmurs against the side of Cyno’s head, breath puffing over the shell of his ear. Cyno jerks against him, just slightly, and Alhaitham has to suck his teeth against his lips to keep from groaning. “I want you to be full.”
Alhaitham refuses to let Cyno deteriorate any further.

Yanqing would ask if they could finish early, come up with an excuse, and then leave without further explanation. The next day he would do the same without addressing anything.
Was Jing Yuan worried? Oh, beside himself. He was worried sick. Jing Yuan had never been worried about a life or death scenario on a battlefield as he was worried about Yanqing at that moment.
