Summary
Ieiri’s unlit cigarette fell to the ground, while her mouth was parted in surprise. Her eyes were wider than he’s ever seen, as little startled the level-headed woman. With slow and measured steps, her heels clicking along the disinfected tiled floor, she approached Nanami, her unblinking eyes never leaving him.
She crouches and takes Nanami’s new form in her hands. Nanami is limp, small body hanging and unsure if he was dreaming.
“Nanami?” She whispers, voice in awe, “Is that you?”
Against all odds, Nanami barks.
Or: Nanami tries to navigate the consequences of a curse's attack when it turns him into a dog.

“Suguru, he’s alive,” Shoko reaches out a hand, placing it on his shoulder and pulling it back as he shrugs her off in a jerky motion, shaking his head and letting out a raspy breath of what is supposed to be Satoru’s name. Except that’s not what comes out, instead thick, bitter blood dribbles past his lips as he gasps, little black drops reminiscent of the curses he’d swallowed the day before dripping onto the ground next to Satoru. “Oh, Suguru.”.
