“We were hardly anything, Zeke. Don’t flatter yourself.”
“Ouch,” Zeke places a hand on his chest dramatically. “Downplaying us just because it ended badly? You wound me.”
“It did end badly,” Levi mutters. “And we weren’t even…whatever the hell you’re making it to be. A few months of sex and a few dozen arguments don’t make a relationship.”
“Come on, Levi. We were together in all the ways that mattered,” Zeke says, and the tone of mockery isn’t there this time.
“If it mattered even a little, Zeke, you wouldn’t have ended it the way you did.” And that shuts Zeke up for a bit.
“I had my reasons,” he says eventually, and Levi just snorts and pulls out Mikasa’s second suitcase, wheels it down with a firm grip.
______Or, Levi meets Zeke again after ten years, and they pick up where they left off.
