Certainly surprised, for who knew he would ever come to possess a mirror that talked just like the Fairest Queen’s did! Not simply talked either, but one that possessed a seemingly corporeal form, physical if not for the fact that you were talking from within a mirror.
Truthfully, Vil’s a little excited.

Or, it should've been, had his quarry not been protected by one of the largest and most quizzical bodyguards he'd seen in a long while. One that costs him his credits, a piece of his pride, and one he ends up in the protection of when he takes a different bounty with him and is subsequently shunned from his life's work and hunted down.
When no place is safe for him and a new child, why does the one person that consciously fucked him over suddenly feel like home?
