    This is based off Pablo Neruda's Poem: Sonnet XVII.

    I interpreted the poem as defining an "obscure" love that isn't defined by normal societal standards and is weird and strange and complicated but it's perfect and lovely. I love the line "I love you as one loves certain obscure things, / secretly, between the shadow and the soul"; hence, the title.
