The words rang through Siyeon’s head even days after they’d been spoken to her, sending thrills down her spine. Even more prominent than just those words, though, were the fumbling, shyly spoken words that had come after, delivered by a slightly trembling jaw and a face with eyes that were wide and slightly afraid.
“With you.”
Remembering how those words sounded, so vulnerable and soft, filled Siyeon’s stomach with nervous energy. It had been a few months since they’d opened up their polycule to include their last, and certainly not least, member, so it was only a matter of time, right? It was natural for this to happen.

“Thanks,” Yoohyeon murmured back, and her smile was so bright.
He’d been looking at that smile for years. Many times, he’d wondered what it would be like to kiss it off her face.
But how could he act on that? They were partners on the ice, they were best friends, and it wouldn’t make sense to ruin that, especially when they’d worked so hard to get where they were. He’d rather have her be happy than chase something as selfish as loving her.
