He sees the witch’s green-painted lips stretch in a gruesome scream of agony; he knows that sound very well, can hear it as if her mouth is pressed up against his ear, because he’s drawn it from her on his own volition before in the very same position.
Prometheus foresees Melinoë becoming gravely injured, and takes it upon himself to save her from her untimely Fate despite their tenuous relationship.

It’s the closest Nuala has ever been to the Dream Lord before. Goosebumps race up her arms and legs at the sheer proximity of him. His presence feels like she is standing on the very edge of a steep cliff, raised thousands of metres in the air with no idea of what lies at the bottom of the starry, endless void below her. She’s going to jump anyway. It’s the only way forward. It’s the only thing she wishes to do. She will throw herself over that ledge again and again, for all eternity, if it means that she can stay this close to him forever.
