He’s been trying to stay focused. He’s been trying to stay focused by keeping himself distracted. He’s been getting information from Rhodey about the stray new hero here and there, and there’s one Rhodey brought to him the other day that Tony has to follow up on, that 240p YouTube video the two of them watched together. What the hell was the name? He stood out, and if Tony was more clear-headed, he’d remember.
He’s searching for the information on a Thursday evening, and that’s when he gets the e-mail about the bed and breakfast. A bed and breakfast that sits on a plot of land that Obie was fighting to take from the owners thirty or so years back, and now, thirty or so years later, the new owners are contacting Tony to sell. Want to move on, the place is past its prime anyway.
And maybe ‘slightly haunted’.
“Slightly haunted,” Tony says, the next day, sitting across the table from Happy at the cafe in the tower. He takes a bite of his scone and tries to hide his keen interest.

Peter is sitting beside Tony in the back of Happy’s car. And of course, he’s bleeding, and he has a massive concussion, and he’s got his arms crossed over his chest and he’s being petulant and when did Tony become a father, again? He doesn’t remember when he officially signed up for this. Was it the moment he walked into Peter’s apartment to introduce himself? Was it the first time Peter almost died? When? When?
“I can be mad at you. I am mad at you.”
Peter scoffs angrily, and Tony tries not to look at him.

“Wow, Stark trusting a teenager to work on his suits?” Sam asks, eyes wide. “You must really be something else, kid.”
“He is,” Tony says, smiling proudly at Peter. “Pete here is gonna be the best of us all, someday-- mark my words.”
Tony glances around the table to see the four rogues all looking between the two of them with expressions that range from slightly curious (Barnes) to downright dopily fond (Steve), and clears his throat-- wishing he had a pair of sunglasses to throw on.
“I mean, jury’s out until you’re done with puberty--”
“Mister Stark--”
“--but I think with my tutelage you’ll turn out at least twelve percent more awesome than me, and at least thirty-five percent cooler than this bunch of cretins currently eating me out of house and home.”
Or: Following the pardoning of the rogues, Tony is determined to keep Spider-Man far from the big threats even as Peter grows closer to the team. But when the truth of Spider-Man's identity comes out after the kid is taken by a man with a personal vendetta against the vigilante, will the team be able to band together to rescue Peter before it’s too late?

Summary
Tony has a double take when Peter Parker enters the room, hands behind his back and secured through handcuffs he could effortlessly break out of in seconds.
There was duct tape covering his mouth and his eyes were darting around the warehouse until they made contact with Tony. His eyes widened in surprise and he stares back at his own captor with a questioning and maybe desperate look. In return, the captor gives an awfully pleased smirk and continues to nudge him forward.
“Told you this wasn’t about you, boy.”
