    “Take a shower, damn it,” she says irritably, raising her arm to cover her nose.

    Sayeon almost feels offended—she had just gotten out of the shower, and Ryujin was still complaining. She’s about to point that out when Ryujin’s pheromones drift toward her.

    They smell like cigarettes, irritation, and a third emotion Sayeon isn’t used to.

    Or, Ryujin complains about Sayeon’s scent, and in trying to figure out why, things turn far more complicated than she expected.
