Summary
You honestly just wanted to get through school like any other student until you could graduate and go traveling with your Stand Storm. However, altercation with another Stand user left you connected to your 'soulmate' in the name of a lunatic. As if such a thing really existed. Whether or not it did, you certainly had to deal with strange items appearing in your life, like a trail of demented bread crumbs intending to lead you to your one-and-only.
You couldn't care less, right up until you found out your things disappeared as well. And, one morning, you woke up to your Stand gone and a different, unfamiliar one left in her place. This, of course, led you on a wild goose-chase as you tried to catch up to your adventuring soulmates and get back the one being who always had your back.
Though, maybe, along the way, you might realize there was space in your heart and life for more people. And just maybe, family was what you made it, not what you were born into.

You were a professional treasure diver, a dangerous occupation that paid incredibly well but meant you regularly risked your life. You were good at your job. You were good at slipping past merfolk unnoticed and retrieving lost things from sunken ships.
You were always careful, for only amateurs or morons allowed themselves to get cocky. And yet, none of that could have prepared you for a pod deadlier than any others you had heard of or for the don of the pod, an imposing mer with red eyes that followed you into your dreams.
