Summary
Buck shifted like he was about to stand—like he was about to leave—and something primal and terrified ripped straight through Eddie’s chest.
“No,” Eddie breathed, sharper than he meant to, his hand shooting out and catching Buck’s wrist with more desperation than strength. “Don’t—don’t go. Don’t leave me.”
------
Eddie’s greatest fear is dying alone — a reality he’s brushed up against more times than he cares to count. His second greatest fear is telling his best friend that he loves him. When a building collapse traps him beneath the wreckage, he’s forced to confront both fears at once. -

Summary
It’s almost like — like Buck’s holding a possible thing in his hands, fragile and fledgling, born too early. It’s not the first time he’s felt this way, with Eddie. It’s happened before, mostly in kitchens.
“Did that guy tell you the name of the suite he put us in?”
The corner of Eddie’s mouth lifts. There, Buck supposes, is his answer.
“Yeah. Honeymooners, huh? Should we tell him about our disaster of a trip?”
His stomach lurches. God. Eddie’s taking this in stride; Buck should be thankful for it. Instead, he’s afraid he’ll be sick all over their shoes.
or: a pining buck has to navigate the Emotional Saw Trap that is the road trip back from new mexico. eddie, quite literally, comes along for the ride.

Summary
“You look ridiculous,” Ryan muttered, but his voice was rough, stripped of its usual irony.
Oliver laughed, stepping around the table until he was standing right in front of Ryan. He turned his back to him, glancing over his shoulder. He knew he looked good. He knew his ass and thighs were his best asset around Ryan—soft, pliant and incredibly grabbable. The thigh highs framed them perfectly.
“Ridiculous enough that you can't look away?” Oliver shot back. He reached back, his fingers grazing the lace top of the stocking, snapping it against his skin. “Or ridiculous enough that your dick is trying to punch a hole through your pants?”
---
Or, Oliver wore thigh highs and Ryan was very, very into it.

Summary
He forces his gloved hand through dirt, rock, dust, pushing past the bite of glass shards until his fingers finally hit something solid.
Eddie’s shoulder.
“Hey.” Buck’s voice drops, breath trembling. “We’re not there yet. You hear me?”
His hand tightens.
“You’re not there.”
A promise more than reassurance.
“You’re gonna tell Christopher whatever you wanna tell him – yourself – after I get you out.”
The silence that follows lands thick, like the air itself has gone still. Eddie’s gaze stays fixed forward, eyes glimmering faintly in the dust-choked light.
Somewhere above them, metal groans.
Buck keeps his hand where it is, the only steady thing left in a world that’s still trying to bury them.
Everything they’ve buried between them begins to surface.

“I can be your partner,” Eddie offers.
Now it’s Buck’s turn to say, “What?”
“If you want,” Eddie adds, shrugging—all casual like he’s not suggesting getting on a kink app for Buck and bearing the responsibility of being in charge of someone like that. “I mean, like you said, it’s an accountability thing, right? That’s what you want?”
Or, Eddie accidentally finds the Obedience App downloaded on Buck’s phone. He offers to help keep Buck accountable, only, they end up unintentionally stumbling into a 24/7 TPE relationship without even realizing it.

“He’s not,” Christopher interrupted after he swallowed, his eyebrows furrowed, “that’s not- no. Bucks not my uncle.”
His abuela waved a dismissive hand, “Oh, of course not, I know that. Isn’t that a thing you young ones do? Refer to your parents' close friends as aunts or uncles?”
And here’s the thing, yes. He refers to Hen and Karen as his aunties. He’s never blinked at that. He routinely tells people that he and Denny are basically cousins.
Sure, he even calls Maddie and Chim his aunt and uncle without a second thought, but that’s because - well, that’s because..
“He’s not my uncle,” Christopher repeated, “He’s my other dad.”

Summary
Buck’s hands were roughened and slightly reddened across the knuckles, like he’d been chopping wood or working outside without gloves. There was a fading bruise near his wrist, yellow at the edges. His eyes were bloodshot. There was an unevenness to the stubble along his jaw where he’d either stopped caring halfway through shaving or never started. All surface details. None of them what Eddie actually wanted to know.
How bad is it today? How often do you hurt? What happens at three in the morning when the cabin gets too quiet and your head gets too loud. Do you still count the hours since the last pill or has that stopped meaning anything? When you said you needed space, did you mean from everyone or just from seeing what you’ve become reflected back in our faces?
Buck shifted under the weight of the silence. “Say it.”
Eddie frowned. “Say what?”
“What you came all this way to say.”
OR Buck leaves because he thinks he is a burden, Eddie follows.

Summary
Buck's plan for the evening is simple: eat calzones with Eddie, pretend he's not in love with his best friend, and absolutely never think about one desperate night he hooked up with Tommy in Eddie's house, and the conversation they had the morning after in Eddie's kitchen while Eddie was in El Paso.
Then Eddie mentions a missed call. And a voicemail. And a text from Tommy asking if Eddie thinks he's "competition."
Before Buck can spiral, Eddie holds out his hand for Buck's phone, finds Tommy's still-blocked number, and calls him back himself. What follows is ten minutes of calm, surgical destruction: Eddie dismantling Tommy's ego, burning every bridge, and saying things like "You call that competition? You were never in the fucking race," and "I left him behind and he was still fucking mine."
Buck's pressed against the corner of the kitchen, half-hard and fully in shock, because they aren't even dating.
Yet.

Summary
“I’m a normal size.”
“No,” Buck says, insistent. “It’s— it’s thick, Eddie. Like— a real handful thick.”
Eddie ducks his head, swallowing hard. “I’m a— grower. By your definition. It gets bigger.”
Buck is still staring at him. Eddie does not look back. “Like an inch bigger?”
Grabbing his beer from the table, Eddie takes the last sip, hoping the chill of it will be some kind of cool balm over the flames within. It doesn’t help much. Quietly, he answers, “More.”
Buck gasps, loud and theatrical. “More?”
“Yes. Alright?” Eddie says tightly, his body flushes hotly. “More.”
A long second ticks by.
Abruptly and a little loudly, Buck asks, “Eddie, how big is your cock?”
Or: Buck finds out Eddie is hung. Seriously hung. This is mindblowing information to possess, apparently.
