Summary
A small raid, at best. Perhaps twenty five men.
But they have come awake, aware on sleeping enemies. They have come ahorse and bring death. Will watches impassively, still. He knows enough of war and death to have learned the virtues of immobility. One that did not run did not catch the eye, did not draw the sword down upon his back.He turns toward his lord's tent and sees the man stern faced in the entryway, fingers clenched in the oiled canvas flap that closes the tent, holding it aside. His lord senses Will's gaze on him, and turns, anger writ clear and decisive on his features.
Will had not forseen this.
He had not been asked to look.
An experiment in writing in slightly smaller pieces at hopefully more frequent intervals. Written for a prompt/picture set on tumblr by anothersalvagemission.

Will laughs, just once, a quick, dark, rich sound that causes the hairs at the back of Hannibal’s neck to stand pleasantly on end. He does not shy away from eye contact with Hannibal the way he does with so many others, rubbing his thumb along his lower lip, enough to tug it gently out of place as he considers his response.
He curls his lip back into his mouth to wet it before asking, “Tell me, Doctor Lecter, have you ever been mated? Willingly or…otherwise.” But for the barest tightening of his smile and a flash of something once brittle, now hardened, behind storm-colored eyes, one would never suspect the sort of madness and past traumas that lurk behind the omega’s guarded cerulean gaze.
Not unless one knows exactly what to look for.

Summary
Matthew Brown is obsessed with the Chesapeake Ripper, and is immensely pleased when he finds out the Ripper is going to be the newest patient at the Baltimore State Hospital for the Criminally Insane. Oh, and how perfect the Ripper is with his black-framed glasses and thick bushel of hair.
While Will Graham is too busy dealing with Hannibal’s mind games, he doesn’t notice another psychopath right under his nose.
