What? They’ve both been at Queen’s for over a year now (Casey’s time in New York notwithstanding) and this is the first time they’ve managed to run into each other at a party. Obviously he has to take advantage of the situation.
Not that they don’t see each other around—last semester, they took a gen ed together, and she comes to his games, and he goes to her shows, and sometimes she’ll swing by his apartment for a study session, and he’ll later buy her a coffee as a thank-you, and then they’ll fight about something stupid and stop speaking for a week, etc. etc.—but never like this, with such dim lighting.

Every night, The Crow opens its doors on Commerce St, and the patrons come to break the law — laws against gambling, laws against indecency, laws protecting the public order. If the police decide to raid, they can shut down the bar, but they can do much worse to patrons caught wearing the wrong clothes or dancing with the wrong people.
