Summary
Atsumu adjusts his mic stand and slings his guitar over his shoulder. The crowd’s cheers continue to fill the venue. Then, Kiyoomi watches as Atsumu raises a hand in the air. With a quick movement, he brings his fist down and, like magic, the crowd falls silent.
Kiyoomi scoffs at the display. “Does he think he’s Wagner?” he whispers to Motoya.
“It’s an Atsumu thing,” Motoya shrugs. “The Jackals have tons of fans despite being fairly new, and their groupies all know how to follow the rules. And Kiyo, your 19th century classical music references would fly over anyone else’s head, just so you know.”

Kiyoomi works hard, he knows this. Since joining msby.creative two years ago, he’s more than proved himself as a Junior Copywriter, and he receives nothing but praise from clients and seniors alike. He’s diligent, attentive, and always delivers his work on time, even if it means writing late into the night when the automatic sensor lights have turned themselves off in every part of the office except for the 3m radius around his desk. He’s putting nothing but dedication and commitment out into the world, so of course, it makes sense that the world should throw absolute shit back in his face.
It makes sense that the biggest break of his career should see him paired with none other than Miya Fucking Atsumu.

Summary
Miya Astumu was the most infuriating person Kiyoomi had ever met. He was loud, obnoxious, and rude. He had an ability to get under his skin with one look or teasing remark, his fox-like grin burned into his memory. No one had ever gotten to Kiyoomi like this. He could feel himself being provoked, being prodded for a reaction. It wasn’t the first time someone had tried to get a rise out of him, but it was the first time he had answered the call.
Atsumu and Kiyoomi never really saw eye to eye unless they were on the court. Their relationship consisted of teasing remarks and stubborn competition. But when Kiyoomi joins the Black Jackals, their relationship slowly starts to shift into something else.

Kiyoomi’s breath hitches as Atsumu twists his thumb into the soft divot of his elbow. “If someone’s gonna drag you down regardless, Omi, at least let it be me.”

Unfortunately for him, Miya Atsumu is, again, annoyingly-attractive, and the fact that they have a shared love for terrible romance novels only nails the final lid in the coffin. As the next book by their favorite author is announced, will they get their act together? Or, as the book's title suggests, will they get sick of each other first?

Kiyoomi closes his eyes, slowly. He prays that the ground opens up and swallows him whole. He prays that a whole earthquake rocks Tokyo and brings the place down on him, specifically. He prays that some higher power decides to strike him with lightning right this minute.

“I’ll believe it when I see it,” Kageyama says. Hinata grins, shuffling in his seat.
“Great! I’ll show you tomorrow, because I’m gonna need you to like…come around and help me out with the show. Okay?”
