TL;DR
At the bar Cal is trying his hardest to get a woman's attention after Jacobs mentoring but it doesn't work. After complaining about how it is so easy for Jacob to pick up people, Jacob proposes the idea of him trying to talk to man, which he hasn't done i a while to show that it is not as easy as Cal thinks.

That got his attention. Claire only used Daddy in that tone when something was serious. Six looked down at her at once, one eyebrow lifting slightly.
Uh-oh.
What did I do this time?
"It's very important."
Claire's expression was deadly serious.
"You need to focus."
"Okay..?"
Six came to a complete stop, giving her his full attention.
"What's wrong? Go ahead. I'm listening."
Claire fixed him with a stern look. Then, after a moment of consideration, she delivered her verdict.
"I want a mommy."
