When Mikage Reo wakes up, he's in Itoshi Rin's bed.
He doesn't remember how he got there, but it's far from the first time this whole scenario has played out. It's not as disconcerting as before; it's not as mortifying as it should be. There's a coffee, a few cookies, and a tablet of his standard migraine medication by the nightstand, and Reo swallows it (and the growing self-loathing) quietly.
(or: the hands that hold mikage reo and the name that spills from his lips belong to two different people.)

Summary
Reo has spent 7 years building a life outside of what was once his reason for breathing, his dream. He's totally over it, over blue lock, over the World Cup, and most importantly, Nagi Seishiro. In fact, he's so over him (and everything else too, Nagi isn't special), he's going to let himself be dragged back into a world in which he doesn't belong, simply because of a nostalgia ridden conversation with Blue Lock's ace, Isagi Yoichi. Yep, nothing could go wrong.
Or, Reo leaves (read:is forced to) Blue Lock abruptly after an incident with his parents and runs away to live a life free from all the pain in his life. Now 25 years old, he has a lot going for him, with the added pleasure of earning it all himself. Until fate makes him cross paths with Nagi Seishiro once more, and by extension the current Japan National Team. Isagi convinces Reo to give football another shot, by pulling some strings to make him part of the management surrounding the team, and helping them behind the scenes. Reo makes space in his heart for football once more(and perhaps Nagi too).
Or,or, tl:dr Reo finds himself in the world of football once again after giving it up 7 years prior, and wins himself the World Cup, his friends, and his man.
