Summary
Adaine was always a second child
She was the second born of the Abernants, and an unloved one at that. It was difficult to be a loved child of the Abernants and worse to be unloved.
Adaine never caught on to magic like Aelwyn, never casting cantrips and Adaine couldn't hold on to 1st level spells even when they were placed into her hands.
Sklonda had seen it all going into work. Fights on the streets, her own coworkers doing various seedy things in the one spot cameras couldn't see. But when she walked into work today, she saw her entire department yelling over each other and a short elven girl standing in the middle.
Certainly one of the weirder things she's seen
tldr: Adaine gets adopted by the Gukgaks and thus changes history forever
