Summary
Because once a week, he had the house entirely to himself from nine am to eight at night while he had his usual day off at the library and Robin was in class all day (and Eddie was on tour). He didn’t need the run of it, of course, because Robin would actually kill him if she found out he was engaging in sex acts in the kitchen — but it was nice to know he could be, like, loud and shift if he needed to.
(That, actually, might have been the only other thing Robin judged him for, but, in his defense, he grew up alone in a big ass house — he never really had to learn to be quiet.)
So he took advantage of it, and put on some pretty clothes and imagined some guy railing him in them.
In which Steve has a fantasy. Couple of 'em, in fact.

But he didn’t count on the fact there was one person in the room who, besides Eleven and Hopper, had the reason to be the most stir-crazy of them all — and Munson had practically made antagonizing Steve into an even bigger pastime than a professional goddamn sport.
There were a variety of one liners he liked to deploy when Steve would roll his eyes or let loose a huff of annoyance.
“What’s got your panties in a twist, Harrington?” he would ask, or, “Baby skip his nap today?”
A personal favorite of his seemed to be some variation of asking if it was Steve’s time of the month. “You on your period, sweetheart?” he’ll ask. It never failed to kill with the boys, who would fall all over themselves laughing when he asked — usually after whatever meeting they were in, because it also never failed to get Nancy apoplectic. Munson, to his credit, had only needed twice to learn to keep that one way under his breath and out of her earshot for fear she’d shoot his nuts off.
These questions also had the unique ability to make Steve as red as a fucking tomato which, like, fuck him, he guessed.
In which Steve learns a thing or two, by doing a thing or two.

The first time it happened was when Steve was little. He couldn't remember well enough to place it during a year or a specific time. It must have been when he was 5 or 6 - that was when his parents had hired the nanny. He'd hidden in the bathroom the first week she was there and refused to come out. Maybe he had inadvertently given her an idea when he did it. He'd repeatedly run to hide in the bathroom but then one time when he turned the handle to come out, he found it jammed - something blocking it from turning.
OR five times Steve Harrington found himself stuck in a bathroom and one time he wasn't stuck.

Eddie is a counselor at Camp Mirkwood: a homey, quaint, little sleepaway camp where the middle class dumps their children so they can get a summer to themselves. Steve Harrington works at Camp Loch Nora across the lake, a camp for country club progeny to experience nature in a removed, sanitized way and occasionally, to interact with the riffraff of Mirkwood to—build character or something.
Eddie hates Steve Harrington and the feeling is mutual. They also have sex in the woods sometimes.

Some good examples include getting to work on time and being able to keep track of the all kids on an outing.
Some bad examples include biting his nails when he’s nervous and smoking without Robin catching him.
But now he thinks he can tack one more on to that list: staring (or thinking about, or hanging out on the couch watching movies with (then accidentally letting their hands brush while trying to get comfortable)) at one Eddie Munson

Eddie Munson had lived through monsters before — real ones, with teeth and claws and a taste for blood. What he hadn’t prepared for was this: the way Steve Harrington kept pulling him into late-night conversations and half-lit car rides, like Eddie was supposed to know what to do with a heart that never stopped bruising.
It was supposed to be nothing. A slip, a laugh, a kiss that didn’t mean anything. Except Steve kept coming back, and Eddie kept letting him. Indiana still spat the same slurs, the newspapers still screamed about a plague in cities far away, and Eddie still knew better than to hope.
But hope had a habit of sneaking in anyway... tucked in the way Steve looked at him when he thought nobody else was watching.

Summary
I am Steve Harrington, he reminded himself, peering around the clinically furnished, fluorescent-lit room. I am an experiment participant at Psycho-Sims. The life I remember isn’t real; it was a simulation to facilitate a social experiment. My memory of it will be wiped, soon. Vecna isn’t real. Hell, the Upside-Down isn’t real. Max isn’t comatose, and Eddie isn’t dead. And that’s about everything in the world that I know for sure, right now.
AKA: The entire Stranger Things show is a simulation by an organization that performs human experimentation. The crew wakes up in a dystopian universe after Eddie dies, and now they have to come to terms with what their lives actually are.
AKA: I couldn’t write a normal fanfiction plot to save my life
TW: violence, uncertainty about what is real, needles, slavery (not explicitly labeled but that’s really what it is), lots of talk about death, child abuse, drug use

Summary
Eddie Munson doesn't mind working at the Family Video Store. It's a nice sense of normalcy (not to mention money) and he gets to see Robin more because of it. However, between working together and sharing the same best friend, he's also been seeing a lot more of Steve Harrington.
He wants nothing more than to enjoy mindless fun with his friends now that everything with Vecna is over, but Eddie's finding it hard to move on from what happened. Even if the strangest thing in his life right now was simply the fact he and Steve Harrington might actually be friends.
