    Thor won, as he always did. It was only a natural cycle at this point, how the sun would always rise and shine over the moon. Always in his shadow.

    After all he'd done, Loki could never go back to his normal life where he was surrounded by Thor's comrades and the incessant cheer of Asgardian parties. They would never look at him the same again, not after everything he committed in his desperation. They would think him a traitor, a mad-man - and were they far from the truth? His father would do worse to him than he'd done to Thor, and Loki? He was sick of the Allfather.

    So, he let go.

    Let the cosmos take him. It was better than having to stand by and have his father puppeteer his fate. Let it be the end of his era, finally.

    (or: Loki's "dying" thoughts after he lets himself fall at the end of Thor 1.)
