Summary
“I didn’t know this was the kind of thing you were interested in,” says Neci, leaning over Aoi’s shoulder.
Aoi might as well go ahead and kiss the comfort of her previous social life goodbye — quit the Hex, forget about the techrot, start a new life somewhere in the Haemus mountainside and start herding fucking sheep. She half-considers crushing her PC to bits just so that Neci stops looking at her screen all smugly, but then Aoi would have to explain to Amir how she ‘accidentally’ imploded her computer to a fine, shimmery dust, and he’d spend the rest of his life making fun of her for it.
( Neci discovers something, and Aoi complicates a perfectly uncomplicated relationship. )

Summary
She'd heard Lettie complain once or twice about how much of a pain in the ass Rusalka was to care for, but she’d assumed it was solely a result of the damage she’d endured when they found her. Not that Aoi could blame her for being acerbic — if something like the Indifference had crawled its way into her, Aoi isn’t so sure she’d have survived it at all.
That venom’s probably one of the few things that’s let Rusalka come as far as she has. Aoi knows the type well.
( The former Major of the Scaldra military finds herself in the care of the face of Höllvania's anti-Scaldra rebellion. )

Summary
Before Eleanor was a walking creature feature, she was pretty normal as far as Nightingales go. A journalist with a steady career. On her tenth consecutive month of company-insured therapy. Someone Lettie was happy to call a friend not even four months ago.
( Eleanor mourns a relationship long gone. )

Summary
Once upon a time, she’d prided herself on her ability to withstand impulse. It came with the territory of being both Aes Sedai and Cairhien — a decision based on nothing but one’s fleeting whims could be disastrous at best, and actively life-ending at worst. Of course, on the ladder of bad decisions, a late-night hookup with an Aielwoman was probably closer to the floor than anything else. The likeliest regret would come in the form of a lingering embarrassment completely unbefitting her station.
Moiraine still isn’t entirely sure what compelled her to say yes. It certainly couldn’t have been a desire to forget — all she can do is remember.

Summary
But there isn’t really a point to any of this. He’s alone now. Like everything else in life, the Glorious Evolution leaves him behind. For once, he’d just wanted to be able to be ahead of the curve, to be — a leader. Or something meaningful, like a person. Not an accessory, or a sump rat elevated to the status of Piltovan excess by virtue of a tailored suit and an above-average haircut.
Viktor wears nothing now, save for the last vestiges of Jayce’s affection draped over his shoulders.
( The world ends. Viktor continues onward. )

Her name is Minthara Baenre. She is a Nightwarden, devoted to Lolth. She is sitting in a pit of flesh pressed close against the skin of the world (too close). Her soldiers are dead. She is dead, certainly. That would explain—

“Tell me it’s all gone,” Serval whispers against Cocolia’s lips. “Tell me with your own words and I swear, I'll leave you alone forever, but I need your words to cauterize the wound you left.”
Serval shows up bleeding at Cocolia's dinner party after she got dumped. Their clean break-up isn't so clean anymore.

Summary
What can you do with regret? So little. What can you do without it? Kafka’s repeated history is a holy scripture of it.
It’s why Kafka has dashed herself against Himeko again and again, expecting nothing different, and yet each time, it’s a new life, a new horror, a new delight.
Kafka is playing out the script in a time loop. If something goes wrong, it’s not a problem: just die and start over. She’s on her 996th, soon to be 997th, loop. And sweet, darling, horrible Himeko shouldn’t remember a thing, so she can repeat their mistakes over and over — that is, until Himeko finds a cryptic message that messes her perfect looping life up.

Summary
Edelgard does not believe in fate, but there are ties here she feels she doesn’t understand. Rhea is Seiros, saint of the church that made the world, and Edelgard is her dedicated iconoclast. Through this, they are bound in conflict. One raises her hand. The other tears it down. Yet here they are, sitting in the garden, Rhea’s hands scraping the fallen frost off of her garden. Here they are, Rhea’s voice carrying a soft tune, Edelgard listening.
The saint looks up. The heretic looks back.
