Summary
He has just gotten her back, yet he is here lying on the ground, rain pelting his blood-covered skin. So’lek blinks rapidly, for he cannot seem to keep his eyes open. Tamtey is the last thought on his mind as he drifts into unconsciousness.
An alternate ending to the From The Ashes DLC. This takes place after Tamtey is saved by So’lek and after So’lek’s fight with Wukula. This is based on canon lore and storytelling, but I added my own thoughts and twists into how I wish/thought it should have been.

Thorin stepped closer, his shadow engulfing the smaller man. "Since when have you cared so much about them?!"The words hung in the air, sharp and unretractable.
Bilbo didn't flinch. He didn't recoil from the King’s wrath. Instead, his face set into a mask of fierce, maternal indignation. He stepped forward, poking a finger directly into the center of Thorin’s fur-lined tunic.
"Since they started calling me 'Uncle' too!" Bilbo yelled back, his voice echoing with a finality that silenced the room.

Summary
The biology of a Hobbit was a finely tuned instrument of comfort, designed by generations of peace and the steady rhythm of the Four Farthings. Among their many quirks, the leathered soles of their feet, the ability to move with supernatural silence, and the requirement of seven meals a day,was an instinct rarely seen by outsiders: the Nesting.
In the Shire, Nesting was a seasonal affair. When the first frost kissed the pumpkins in the fields, every Hobbit hole from Michel Delving to Buckland became a flurry of activity. Rugs were layered, wool was carded, and pillows were stacked until a Hobbit could dive into their bed and not be seen for three days.
But Nesting wasn't just for the cold. It was for the hurt. It was for the frightened.
