They say you reap what you sow. Kou doesn't really know what any of those words mean individually, he failed Japanese and now he was failing English to, but he'd heard his father say them enough times to match a meaning to the phrase. It meant something like laying with dogs or you are what you eat. Consequences for your actions and all that.
