Diluc makes some sort of aborted sound. “No. You… I can listen if you want.” Kaeya stares at him. “No need to look at me like that. You said it yourself: not caring and giving empty advice is all you need.”
Or, by a cruel twist of fate Kaeya ends up dating someone whom he will never love and tries not to drown

Summary
There is this precarious moment—not necessarily hesitation because they have long since given up on figuring out how they feel about this newfangled back and forth between them—where Diluc stares at him like he has no idea what to do next. Kaeya almost wishes it could just be lust that he sees in those ruby-coloured eyes.
Are you scared of me? Kaeya wants to ask when Diluc looks at him like that. Of what I’ve done to you? Of who I’ve become because of you?
Or even the other way around—of who you’ve become, the things you’ve done?
Kaeya never does ask; he simply does the next already well-practised step in their uncanny waltz and hops off the stool to walk over, grabs Diluc’s collar, and kisses the bar owner as hard as he can.
Kaeya finds himself in a peculiar enemies-with-benefits arrangement with his ex-sworn brother.

How messed up everything has become, Diluc could only laugh at the irony of it. Their relationship had become a endless cycle of hurt from which neither of them could escape nor stop, not unless one of them let go. But which one of them could afford to let go?
Diluc glances at Kaeya once more, at the abyss holding him captive and then back at his own past and decides that the question is a foolish one. He is the only one that can afford to let go, the only one who has that privilege.
So Diluc lets go.

On a peaceful night at Angel's Share, a simple innocent gesture of affection makes Diluc realise that, despite whatever he wants to believe, he is as responsible if not more, about all the pain that exists between him and Kaeya. His hands still burn.- Language:
