Hakho thinks he's been seeing things. Or more specifically, someone. It started as mistaking objects for someone in his peripheral vision, it gradually increased intensity — He started seeing him in pictures he was never in, it sinks a feeling deep in his guts as he scrolled away only to pathetically come back to glimpse again but he was gone. Hakho started to see him inside his room, brushing his teeth, playing games, and sleeping. Then suddenly he sees him in crowds. Unmoving. Quiet. Dead.

Summary
Plan A: Fix-it timeline but not so much, I was just held at gunpoint to write a happyish au for them because I decided to make SHORE.
Wherein the union is just a subdivision/neighbourhood where everyone are neighbours and silly highschoolers. And instead of gang fights they just do dance battles for the fun of it. Mainly for Hakseong/Jiwolf so the world building would only develop in their perspective, so so sorry.

The Hatchetfield High social hierarchy is a very carefully curated system. The jocks and cool kids live on the highest level, with the only thing they need to fear being their grades. They prey on the lowest level, the nerds. While the nerds don't need to worry about passing tests, they do have to watch everywhere they go so they don't get caught by any bullies. The one thing that both these group have in common is that... well that they're groups. If they ever need companionship they can always turn to each other. That is of course, if your not at the apex or bottom of the social ladder, if you're not Max Jägerman or Grace Chasity. They don't get to have a crew. They get to be alone. But that all changes when Stephanie Lauter gets "pregnant". In her attempt to save Steph's soul, Grace gets herself injured and the only one willing to help her is Max. Neither of them know it yet, but this meeting was long overdue, and will leave their lives much different than they had ever planned.
