He played with 18-year olds at Dortmund and Munich but somehow Mario Götze and Jamal Musiala never seemed so young to him. Even though the latter is called Bambi for a reason. And maybe it’s because Robert was closer in age to Götze and the other boys the time he was still at Dortmund and because his team in Munich was older in average but it’s still a strange feeling to step on the Joan Gamper training grounds next to Xavi and look at all the teenagers. He’s pretty sure he’s the oldest player in the squad except for maybe Busquets.

Summary
The kid, who can’t be older than two is obviously disoriented and Ferran is talking them down with a joke and a smile.
Ridiculously, in that exact moment, something breaks inside Pedri. An ugly, overwhelming feeling washes over him and his breath catches — he realizes he lost this forever because he couldn’t be brave. Ferran is going to be a husband to someone else and a father to their kids and not Pedri’s.
or: Pedri is very normal about his ex-situationship with Ferran. At least, that’s what he tells himself. Then, someone decides to hand his best friend a kid.

Flo’s eyes snap to his. The words surprise Jamal too. They sound like a boundary. They sound like a lie.
“Nothing else,” Jamal adds, because one of them has to say it. Because the shape of the night needs edges. Because if he names the line out loud, maybe he can still pretend he is not already halfway over it.
Flo nods immediately. Too quickly.
“Nothing else,” he says.
