In the kitchen, Katsuki flipped on the light. Then he pulled a paper towel off the roll, leveraging his forearm to get it to tear. "Here," he said, turning to hand it over.
Deku had blood running down his face.
Katsuki froze, arm not fully extended. He'd though Deku must have been crying, that he got snot everywhere.
"Thanks," Deku said, taking the towel. He held it up to his nose, where his hand had been. He had scuffs on his arms, bruises forming on his face, visible now that it was light.

It took a little bit more than a day for him to finally listen – he visited Al with the explicit goal of falling asleep next to his brother, his bed big enough for the two of them just this once.
Unaware of how dangerous his injuries from the Promised Day are, Ed waits too long to go see a doctor. In the end a few hours can make the difference between life and death.
