Summary
He doesn’t know why he comes back. He never does.
The lights are half-off; nobody pays for the electricity anymore, or any utility in this place. He wanders around the whole place, poking at things he finds interesting, not quite looking for something. Yet, he still hopes he sees whatever he’s not looking for.
Eventually, he’ll find himself sitting on the ruined leather of the couch in the small office tucked away in the corner of the bowling alley, one arm slung over the armrest and dangling limply, two cigarettes stubbed out poorly in the little glass ashtray he used to be so fond of and one more dying out in his mouth.
It’s not like he doesn’t have anywhere to go. It’s not like he doesn’t have anyone to go to. It’s definitely not because he misses his work, or rather...

“At least I’ll see him one last time.”
Those were the last words Wartortle would ever utter, at least the last words that would be heard by anyone at all.
The space he’s in is full of random objects and structures he’s seen throughout Kanto, save for the odd glitching mass that only seems to grow and grow in front of him. He’s seen all sorts of Pokemon from all over the regions of the world get absorbed into it after touching it.
He’s aware it’s getting closer. He’s aware that he cannot muster the strength to run from it any further.
It’s steadily increasing, but it’s painfully slow.

"OW!" Hunter dropped the needle on the rounded wooden dining table that sat like a centrepiece in the central part of his home. This was his day off, and Darius was finally teaching him how to sew. "I keep dropping it. Or pricking myself with it. Darius, how do you get the thread through the eye again?"
Darius sighed. "There's a reason we have these things called needle threaders, little prince." He picked one up and handed it to Hunter.
"But you don't use one," Hunter looked at Darius curiously.
"That's because I know how to sew," Darius replied curtly, not taking his eyes off of his work.

Seongje talks. About the fight with Eunjang’s, about Baekjin no longer being Choi’s golden boy. About Humin. Baekjin just closes his eyes and grits his teeth. Bears it all like he bears the pain. Thinks that he would rather have died than be this weak, and maybe that's it's his ultimate punishment. To live through every humiliating, agonizing second of it.
“You want help with your bandages?” Seongje asks eventually. “Say please, I might even be nice about it.”
“Fuck you.”
It comes out soft. Hoarse. Weak. He knows Seongje will do whatever he wants anyway.
Seongje smirks.
Baekjin closes his eyes. Tries to breathe through the aching in his ribs and the burning in his gut.
A moment later, something thumps on the coffee table. Baekjin looks.
The first-aid kit.
Seongje is kneeling, sleeves rolled up.
“Forgot my sexy nurse costume,” he says. “I’ll bring it next time.”
Baekjin doesn’t reply.
He just sits still and lets Seongje start with the cut above his eyebrow. The antiseptic stings. The bandage is tight.
Next time, Baekjin thinks.
