Sonic, the worlds hero, went missing. Shadow was utterly worried for his husband since this all started. He had been desperate to find him, but over time he slowly gave up. If couldn't find his husband with his speed, Sonic might as well just died already. But Shadow still looked for him whenever he got the chance in missions. Kept an eye everywhere.But on one mission to retrieve some food, he finds something........

Sonic, a young Mobian living in a human village, witnesses one of his neighbors shoot down a dragon passing by late at night. Determined to do what he can to help, he tracks down where the dragon landed after being shot and frees it. However, he soon discovers not only that the dragon still needs his help, but also that his new friend is not quite what it seems to be…
Aka AU where Shadow can magically shapeshift into a dragon and gets injured and Sonic finds him and takes care of him (also threw a random self insert in here for shits and giggles) that draws HEAVY inspiration from the How To Train Your Dragon franchise

Hibernation is fundamental for mobian health.
It is necessary for emotional and mental processing of memories through reliving them, preparing mammals for the next year as winter ends once again.
Shadow wouldn't know this of course, since he was exempt from the habit, being born as the "Ultimate Lifeform" and whatnot. Sonic on the other hand, has always been very good at running from his problems.
