Summary
In a world on the brink of collapse, Phainon and Mydei come across an ancient relic, which is deeply intertwined both with Mydei's culture, and with the true nature of Amphoreus and Phainon himself. Amidst mysteries and painful losses, the two heroes try to uncover the truth the artifact hides, grapple with the weight of the world on their shoulders, and fight for the love that blooms between them.
The story starts pre-canon and follows the progression of Phainon and Mydei's relationship, but puts a canon-divergent spin on the way things play out in the story of Amphoreus. What if Irontomb wasn't the key to the truth behind Amphoreus?

Summary
Mydei doesn't involve himself in relationships of any kind. He doesn't. It's always easier to simply exist next to them and offering them a hand, but he has a secret to keep and it's much safer for the both of them. However, he didn't take into account that starting to work in an animal shelter and meeting an older, particularly insisting man would lead to everything that he thought he would never dare to taste.

Mydei only wanted three things in life: peace, job security and ensuring his mother's happiness by opening a bakery from his savings and staying away from espers.
Instead, a confidential S-class file lands at his doorstep.
A S-Class Gate opens near his workplace.
And most importantly, his punch knocked out the most dangerous and notoriously powerful esper in the country.Which is impossible. Espers are supposed to be immune to humans after all.
Buried under the rigid system reinforcing the Esper and guide propaganda over and over again, Mydei emerges as the infamous third category. A nullifier. A catastrophic power bestowed to a human capable of destroying resonance itself.And unfortunately for Mydei and the government, General Phainon Khaslana just found his human stabiliser and is not planning to let go of him so soon.

Hephaestion freezes mid-smile, the words looping in his head.
“…Cheating?”
"Oh. I thought you two were together?"
Hephaestion waves a dismissive hand. “That was over a decade ago. We only lasted a month before we figured out we were better off as bros.”
Hephaestion apparently can’t even be friendly with anyone without someone assuming he’s cheating on Mydei. If that’s the case, what happens when he actually sets his sights on someone? The poor hypothetical person would think they’re competing with Mydei—and most people would back off immediately.
Well. Hephaestion can’t have that, can he?

Hundreds of times over, he reaches for this mask, a million times over, he reaches for this mask. Sometimes he sees the face behind it. Sometimes he touches the face behind it. Sometimes, he dies before he can do either of those things. The world goes black a hundred times, the world goes black a million times. His back torn open, his body twisted into a god’s. It happened here. It happened here. It happened here.
He jerks away with a hiss. The reverberations linger, shards of a million lifetimes hanging in the air like an executioner’s blade. And at last, the swordmaster says, hoarse voice no more than a sigh:
“My…deimos.”
Mydei stares at him for a moment, then reaches out for the third time, and this time he slides the mask gently off the swordmaster’s face.
“...Phainon,” he breathes.
in the ruins of castrum kremnos, mydei finds a dying swordmaster in black and a million cycles of lost memories; the flame reaver receives one last memory of how it felt to be loved.
