He moved with excruciating care, prioritizing stability over speed, terrified of dropping her. Yet, despite the physical agony and the worsening hellscape around them, a strange, unexpected lightness settled in his chest. Her condition might be as dangerous as needing immediate treatment—but she was alive. Breathing. Heart beating. Even with lacking consciousness, he knew she was still there. That's enough of a reason for Anaxa to keep on walking through the stabbing storm despite how tiring it was supposed to be.

It's nearing the end of the month again, meaning Yanqing is running low on funds.
But with the General still out on an expedition he should have returned from already, Yanqing can't describe the gnawing feeling he has when trying to ignore just how long Jing Yuan has been gone.
OR: Jing Yuan's expedition took way longer than anyone anticipated. Yanqing doesn't seem to realize that he has separation anxiety.
