Summary
There's a certain yearning, a passion that comes with knowing you can never, ever, have what you want. That you’ve ruined all of your own chances, sabotaged yourself every possible step of the way.
A certain desire born out of a necessity and need that can never be met, and can never be replaced, because what you want— what you need,-- is gone. It’s not coming back, at least, not in this lifetime. Your empty hands will never be able to reach what you so, so desperately, want.
. . .

Summary
You didn’t know it at a time, but those serrated teeth, curved and wicked they were, could tear deeper than you ever thought. Burrowing almost to bone, stopping just short of really marking you as their own.
...
Reaching over to the edge of the bed, Kel pulled himself up, dragging himself onto his feet, almost falling… But not quite.
He has to do this. Needs to.
...
The air slips from your lungs.

He wishes it never did.
...
He thinks, that maybe, he can be selfish again. He deserves it, after all.

Kel didn’t know how to feel about it. So, he made sure that he didn’t feel anything at all.
So, it’s 4am, and he was... on call. With Sunny. Nothing more, nothing less.
At first, it was okay. A simple hello, Sunny’s soft voice managing little more than to be audible. He almost had to strain himself to hear, but, he doesn’t mind. He likes to think that, maybe, it’s cute.
After a while, Sunny asked about Kel.
