Chip reached over, placing his hand over Gillion’s where he was still holding the bandages. Gillion forced himself not to flinch away, his heart leaping to his throat with panic, trying not to dig his claws into Chip’s wrist.
“Let me bandage your wounds,” Chip said, prying Gillion’s fingers away from the object and taking the small roll from him. Gillion said nothing, his hand tingling with frantic pins and needles as he tried to decipher what Chip wanted out of this interaction. What was the hidden meaning behind it? The hidden lesson?

Summary
Once, Gillion would have wondered what it was like to have someone look at you with that much care and kindness. He never saw that look from his own parents, only disappointment and greed. Now though, he knows what it’s like to be looked at with love. He thinks of Edyn, and Jay, and Chip, and he knows that he will be okay.
He looks at Ollie, laughing as he lifts ten times the weight of the men helping him, and at his mother. He knows they will be okay too.

Ollie's voice cracked again as he pushed Chip's hand away and ran the last few steps to his quarters, too scared to care about the pain. He rushed in and shut the door behind him, trying to hold back sobs and get to back breathing normally. Nobody needed to know. Nobody would find out now that he was safe and alone in his quarters.
