Summary
The pounding of the heart would sound the same as the screeching cries that filled the first night, man and beast alike, and it was a sound that would never dim even as the days passed. There would be only one who would walk away with their life at the very end, battered in blood and body torn beyond recognition. There would be only one who could look over their shoulder one last time at the arena as they left, memories and lives forgotten forever.
