He could hear the footsteps walking towards him. Too slow to be a jogger, too decisive to be there without reason. Jungkook kept his eyes closed. He had seen enough horrors during his shifts to last a lifetime. No downtime. Poor pay. Barely staying afloat despite working full hours. Finally he had found a way out. Someone sat down on the bench and for a moment it was silent. Dead silent.

Caspian can’t help but notice how carefully Peter handles the battered old shoebox, the tenderness with which he traces his fingertips along the fading silver Sharpie scrawled wobblingly across the lid.
“Did I ever tell you,” Peter begins quietly, voice strangely reverent, “about Narnia?”
He looks up at Caspian, then, head-on for the first time all day—since that night, even—and Caspian, throat inexplicably dry, can only shake his head. Peter nods slowly, more to himself than Caspian, it seems, and then he’s tucking the box carefully under one arm and standing.
“C’mere,” Peter says. “I want to show you something.”
