"Wait," Occtis says.
Julien stares at his wrist before looking up to lock gazes with Occtis, who sighs. "I— I thought that we could watch something and—" Occtis glares as Julien scoffs, "—and we could, you know."
Julien feels the creeping understanding come over him, as preposterous as it seems. "Occtis," he starts. "We've hardly spoken to each other. Did you think this would lead to something?"
Occtis' cheeks flush, his mouth twitches. "I was told that this kind of thing set the stage, yes."
Julien Davinos sees an opportunity when Primus Tachonis' errant son propositions him.

“Get back at your family.” Thimble repeats flatly. “The same family he let get away right now to burn himself for you?”
Or: Thimble realizes Julien isn't as nonchalant about Occtis as he'd like to claim. Whether or not *she* is, is absolutely besides the point
