“I think I like you, Yosuke.”
Yosuke remembered how dry both his mouth and throat had gotten. He couldn’t even bring himself to croak out a reply, any reply. It felt as if the words itself were physically blocking his voice box out.
“But… you’re not…” Yosuke found himself speaking, surprised at how easily the words were spilling out of his chapped lips. The next thing he could recall was his heart dropping down deep into his stomach when he witnessed how Yu’s expression immediately darkened.
“I’m not what?” Yu asked, his jaw tensing as he slightly gritted his teeth together. Yosuke’s heart was now beating anxiously. He knew what were the right words to say but he didn’t know why his mouth went,
“...A girl.”
Yu’s eyes widened while Yosuke looked mortified.
“I wish you were a girl, though.”
