Philip hummed, and tucked a lock of dark hair behind Nicola’s ear. “I will not pretend to be unmoved by pretty, dark-haired young men. Yes,” he said, “I have noticed.”
“Good. Because I’ve had a taste of him—” The sucking inhale of a breath beneath his hand, though Philip’s expression remained impassive. Nicola simpered. “—and I thought you might like to hear about it.”

Summary
Conan bounces on the balls of his feet, whistling some Seswennan pop song that always scandalises the servants at Val Denn. They’ll certainly be working hard tonight. Considering the specifics of what the Rear Admiral has asked him, it’ll be a right grind.
Thankfully, Conan’s somewhat of an expert. So is Tiaan by now, for that matter.
Rear Admiral Jerjerrod requests Admiral Motti joins him for some late night work. Motti is only too happy to oblige.

Now, at the threshold to freedom or at least a temporary respite of Jerjerrod expectations, Conan feels that maybe Tiaan needs to be shown what he could have, what it could look like if he’d choose not to go with his parents’ expectations of marrying a sensible girl.
And what better place for that than the Raging Rancor, one of Seswenna’s finest clubs for men. It is here that men of certain persuasions come to have a proper night out. Not hidden in badly lit little backrooms like on Tinnel, no. This is a place to look and be looked at if so desired.
They are about to become Cadets Motti and Jerjerrod, and in this last summer as just Conan and Tiaan, Conan wants them to be an us
