All Trolls-centric, likely Branch-centric since he's my favorite character. I just love how he and Poppy interact, especially with her theoretically being all "cupcakes and rainbows" and him being grey.

Maxwell is barely fourteen years old when he tucks himself far into the corner of the drawing room closet as he sits shoulder to shoulder with his older brother Wealwell, hissing softly as a sharp pain continues to bloom over his cheek.
He can hear Hatwell giving up on his attempt to show them more ‘brotherly bonding’ as his Father likes to call it, Maxwell knows however that his turd of an older brother wouldn’t have the guts to do any of this if Samwell wasn’t currently off at University.
What an ass.

She wants to tell him how when she looks in the mirror, it is her parents reflected back at her. Everything she has comes from them; they are the reason she is so full of hatred and anger, engulfing her in their inescapable legacy.

Adaine believes that hatred has consumed her entirely, reminding her far too much of her parents. How can she take for herself things she doesn't deserve when she can't even shed the very same behaviours she scorns?

"Do you ever see it?" Fabian asks softly.
"Fabian," Adaine says, her voice flat, but she doesn't sound like she's upset. "I'm the Elven fucking Oracle. You need to be a little more specific than that."
Fabian inhales sharply, and a withering grin wavers on his lips. "Sorry," he says, but it comes out on the wrong side of dry. Adaine gracefully doesn't say anything about it, just shakes her head.
"I mean," Fabian says, haltingly, and it's now that he realizes he has absolutely no way of trying to start the conversation that he didn't even realize he was going to start in the first place. "I mean, do you ever think about the fact that you—killed him?"
