Lance stayed glued to that spot for minutes, hours, days, he couldn't really tell at that point. and that's how he stayed, until a man found him. the man gave him shelter and food, that was it tho the man had no love for him, and the only time he even seemed to value him was when he was able to be cruel to others during his training, the very same that his mama had once tried to protect him from, to fight in the very same war that his destroyed his family, and that, that broke him.
when ones draw to war is there any escape? will he even survive this? someday his skill wont be the only thing he needs to survive, he'll need the trust of his team, and it might already be too late for that.

He turned around, frowning at the figure standing maybe four meters behind him. Peter had no idea how the hell he thought he was being subtle. If that was his goal, he sucked at stealth.
“Hey! Yeah, you, the guy in red. What do you want?” He called again, irritation threading through.
Red Hood didn’t answer. He just stood there, still, staring at him through the mask. Peter figured maybe he was deciding something.
Whatever it was, it wasn’t his problem.
His mouth opened, ready to tell him to piss off. But the words that came back weren’t his. They rolled out of the helmet in a deep, modulated voice:
“You’re smarter than I thought.”
Peter felt his stomach drop. Because—what the fuck?
Peter has made bad choices before, but Gotham is the one that bites back.
He wants to prove he belongs.

Jason landed, hard.
He gasped in a breath and tried to shake free of the dizzying disorientation as he pushed himself up on shaking arms. The world swooped violently and he fell back down, jarring his chin on the rough ground. He closed his eyes against the nauseating swaying before he threw up.
He swallowed harshly, forced the rising bile back down, and took slow, deep breaths. Just like Slade had shown him. He could practically hear the man’s voice in his head, as gruff and impatient as always.
Orientate yourself, Jason. Find a weapon. Get somewhere defensible. Kill anyone in your way. Recon.
He nodded along to the remembered instructions and forced himself to stand. He stumbled drunkenly for his first few steps but he wouldn't let anything stop him. Not ever again. Definitely not some stupid fucking dizziness.
He staggered across the rough grain of the rooftop he had landed on. New York’s skyline stared at him across the East River.
How the fuck had he ended up in Brooklyn?
Fuck.
He had to find Slade — he, at least, would know what to do.

2. Peter Parker should under no circumstances interact with anyone running around dressed as some sort of bat or bird.

A strangled, animal sound tore from his throat. He was fucked."

Peter, didn't ask for any of it: he ends up in a place called Gotham, goes viral on the internet, runs into Superman's ex-wife, gets an internship at the Daily Planet…all the while getting pursued by the Red Hood.
He tried, okay? (He messes it up with two potential love interests + goes to university).
