In a fit of loneliness and grief, Renfield retrieves Dracula's remains from the Lobo mansion and runs off with them, fully intent on reviving his Master however he can, but he's a changed man and he refuses to fall back into old habits. He concocts a way to regain his relationship with his soul-bonded partner, but he has a few stipulations he insists Dracula must follow.

Renfield's eyes welled up with angry tears, his cheeks red and jaw taut. Dracula pressed the pad of his thumb against the man's lower lip, stroking over its chapped texture with a smirk.
"Perhaps I need to give you a proper reminder, you know? It isn't your fault, Renfield, I know how weak your will is. You follow guidance no matter where it comes from… it's in your nature."

He stroked his thumbs over his jaw, tipping his head slightly to the left, and he gave another laugh.

Convinced it would be a quick and easy way to collect blood from victims, Renfield and Dracula arrive at a little music festival called Woodstock and swiftly learn it's not as simple as they'd expected. A series of mishaps lead to a tender, drug-intoxicated reunion for the both of them, reigniting a warm flame they haven't felt in their relationship for a long time.

One would think, after everything Renfield has done, that this wouldn’t even register as a sin. This should only be a mere drop in the ocean of his depravity; an arbitrary rule made by mortals, for mortals.
But Victorian morality programming runs deep, and Renfield’s hardly the type to pass up an opportunity for self-loathing.
